I. Overall Comments

I like how refreshingly honest he was about his art. There was a moment where he got emotional over talking about why he makes comics because they are the only think that kept him going in a dark time, and that is something I can relate to. Art is the best catharsis out there.

II. What I Learned

I had never really met a professional artists who does so many different kinds of art like he does (murals, toys, comics, prints, etc.), and maintain such a common theme so well among them. It feels very refreshing to see that it can be done successfully, too.

III. What Surprised Me the Most

Again, his honesty. When he talked about his close friend blocking him on Patreon because of accountability (I think), I was surprised at how comfortable he was about sharing that with us, and also his confession that he send in old work, too. I always had this image in my head that artists are perfectly organized and on-time, but I enjoyed seeing how human he is.

IV. Questions I Have for Him

How did you get into comics? How do you know what you want to make in your murals?

How do you come up with character concepts?
