"do it." process post

I love art but I hate the mental blocks you have to surpass while making it. Here are three images of my piece on suicide, called "do it." In the first picture you can see how I'm working on filling in my hair. I love starting here first because I can work backward from the darkest darks to find my midtone. I felt pressure to achieve the perfect hair-like look that I did with my last piece, but I tackled it with a brush wave by wave and succeeded. Another challenge I faced was doing the hand's shading, which I also needed to be perfect, but once I got over the panic and just did it, it turned out lovely. One thing I would change is not using water-soluble ink next time because it bleeds everywhere when you reapply water; otherwise, it's perfect.
