First In-class Project Progress Check - 10/13/24

When I initially began this project with a reference photo, I was planning on using the traditional method where you create a grid on a printed version of the photo and then make a scaled-up version on the sheet of paper you are creating the project on and drawing it. The angle of my face in the picture is odd, and so Coach suggested I use a projector, which turned out to be way more effective than the traditional method, and I am quite happy with how the sketch turned out. The final product looks incredible because of this process, and I fully intend on doing it for my future ones. The only other challenge I faced was the length of time it took to do the patterns on the shirt and border, but they are worth the eye candy that results. I definitely want to continue this theme of flat sections of pattern set in realistic ink drawing/painting, as the contrast is lovely. This may be my favorite project yet.
