Art Awareness - Anish Kapoor - 4/26/24

Reason: I was made aware of Anish Kapoor's existence in the art world when I told Coach Hall I didn't know any successful Indian artists out there and that I felt stranded, since many of the artists I have been exposed to that are Indian practice traditional, religious craft. He's the person who made Cloudgate (The Bean). That's when I knew this controversial artist was the next person I had to investigate.

Background Information: Kapoor is a sculptural artist who is known for his minimalist organic forms that are meant to make the viewer reevaluate their connection to space or objects in our world in a new way. He works with highly reflective metal and materials that usually are installed around normal architecture. His projects have become increasingly ambitious in concept and in scale. He's also obsessed with the vagina, if that counts for something.
